A Little Bit About the Stanhope Heritage Museum

The Stanhope Museum is residing in the beautiful Haliburton Highlands of Ontario, home to a lot more than 140 years of records, data and artifacts. This Ontario museum specializes in local pioneer history and is home to the historical Hawk Lake Log Chute.

Hawk Lake Log Chute could be the only remaining log chute of its style in Ontario. The log chute has been painstakingly repaired and reconstructed.

The Stanhope Museum is one of Ontario’s smaller museums but it surely has one of the largest archives of Ontario pioneer history and records.

The museum is open to tourist on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 11 to 2.

Admission is by donation.
