snowshoeing shoeCome hear the stories behind a remarkable collection of heritage snowshoes and snowshoe adventures with recreation expert, Craig MacDonald.

Craig worked 47 years for your Ontario Government and for the previous 24 years as Recreation Specialist in Algonquin Park.

Previous to that he was your Recreation Specialist at the Frost Centre and accountable for the development of the Centre's canoe routes and skiing trails.

Craig is additionally known as the Map Man of Temagami.

He researched and designed a full-color map depicting traditional snowshoe and canoe routes from the Temagami region as they were in 1900.

Snowshoes Winter SportThis is the most comprehensive map of traditional routes actually formulated in Canada.

Craig has gone on annual snowshoe expeditions for the past 38 years.

This have taken him through many wilderness places in Eastern Canada including your 3 week trip throughout Algonquin Park.

In his spare time he manufactures winter camping equipment and enjoys to be in the woods at all times of the year.

If your interests are in the winter sport of shoeshoe trips or enjoy snowshoeing throughout the forest and lakes then listen and learn with the experts.
