Tom Green’s love of nature inspires his work in stained glass, which captures the ever-changing landscape around him.

His studio – in a renovated schoolhouse built in 1871 – is not to be missed. Green has been creating works in this medium for more than 30 years.

Leo Sepa's artwork includes caricatures, gargoyles, wildlife, masks, furniture, garden sculptures, weather vanes and other forms.

His paternal grandfather was a blacksmith in Estonia and, like him, Sepa uses traditional blacksmith techniques, as well as modern ones.

He works in both recycled and new materials and sometimes uses natural patinas, creating a wide variety of pieces.

Lennard is a contemporary landscape painter whose love of art and nature is vividly expressed in his colourful canvases.

His work, in the traditional medium of oils, captures the effects of sunlight and shadow on colour.

The Minden Hills Cultural Centre – and your Doors Open home base – consists of the Agnes Jamieson Gallery, the Minden Hills Museum and Pioneer Village and R.D. Lawrence

Minden House, a stacked timber construction dating from 1866, is one of the oldest homes in town.

The main house features an inviting wraparound veranda, whimsical alcoves, antique furnishings and period décor. Between 1884 and 1930, it was the home of Newcastle upon Tyne (England) native Michael Brown, who served the town as treasurer, postmaster and justice of the peace.

Orange Cat Studio is located on a quiet back road, surrounded by the peace and serenity of the Haliburton Highlands.

Come up the stairs around the apple tree into the light-filled studio.

There you will find Laura Trach, who works with a wide variety of textile materials to create painting-like landscapes and unique wearable art.

The Queen Elizabeth II Wildlands Provincial Park is one of the most diverse and least-disturbed natural areas in Central Ontario.

One-hour guided hikes will take place each day at 1 p.m. on the Ganaraska Trail through this pristine park, part of Minden Hills

Woods’ work reflects her focus on creating traditional, functional pottery and decorating with new glazes, as well as old-fashioned favourites. She produces practical but decorative pieces, such as large serving patters, casseroles, bowls, plates, maple syrup jugs, gravy boats and wine cups.

Gary Chapman's studio is hidden away in the woods against the backdrop of a rocky cliff. He refers to this outcropping as Grumbleknot Ridge.

Follow the path through the woods and discover where he creates his original paintings when he is not on location painting throughout the county. Chapman works primarily in water colours but also uses water-soluble oil paints.
